WHAT COUNTS AS A TREE EMERGENCY?

A tree or large branch has fallen onto a house, garage, car, fence or greenhouse
A tree is blocking your driveway, access or a road
A tree is leaning, cracked or lifting at the roots after high winds
A broken branch is hanging in the crown and could drop (often called a "hanger")
A tree has been damaged by lightning, a vehicle or fire

WHAT TO DO WHILE YOU WAIT FOR US

Keep everyone away, including children and pets, from the tree and anything underneath it.
Stay well clear of power lines. If a tree is touching or has brought down cables, assume they're live. Call 105 (the free UK power cut line) or 999 if there's immediate danger.
Call 999 if anyone is hurt or trapped, or if a tree is blocking a busy road and creating a danger to traffic.
Take photos from a safe distance for your insurance claim.

HOW WE MAKE IT SAFE

Our first job is to remove the danger: taking weight off buildings, cutting away hanging or split limbs, and making the tree stable. Once the site is safe, we can come back to clear the timber, remove the rest of the tree if needed, and grind out the stump. We work carefully to avoid further damage to roofs, walls and vehicles, using rope and rigging to lower sections under control.

INSURANCE AND PROTECTED TREES

We can provide photos and a written description of the damage and the work carried out to support an insurance claim. If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order or is in a conservation area, work to make an immediately dangerous tree safe can usually go ahead without waiting for consent, but the council should be told and evidence kept. We record everything so you're covered.

Can you come out today?

In most emergencies we aim to attend the same day.

Is emergency work more expensive?

Out-of-hours and urgent work can cost more than a planned job. We'll give you a price before starting whenever it's safe to do so.

Do I need to be home for the quote?

As long as we have clear access to the garden, we can often provide an estimate without you being present.

Is any job too small?

No, we handle everything from minor branch pruning and hedge tidying to full-scale tree removals.

Do I need permission to cut down or prune a tree?

Sometimes. If a tree has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or is in a conservation area, you need your local council's consent before most work. We check this before starting and can advise you on the application.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based in the borough of Bury and cover Greater Manchester and Lancashire, including Bury, Ramsbottom, Rochdale, Bolton, Manchester, Rossendale and Darwen.

Do you take the waste away?

Yes. All branches, logs and green waste are removed and the area is cleaned up, unless you'd like to keep the logs or woodchip.
